The parts or components of a Battery are:
Box or container: Made of high strength limestone polypropylene. Its function is to support or contain all the components that allow the electrochemical process of the Battery.
Cover or cover: Also made of high strength limerous polypropylene; It allows the vessels contained in the box to be sealed, preventing electrolyte from leaking out. Both containers and covers must be made of materials with insulating characteristics to electrical conduction, resistant to impact or shock, unattainable by the action of sulfuric acid and be totally light.
Plugs: The plugs can be threaded or pressure. Its function is to close the filling holes of the elements and in operation they must always be put. They also allow to evacuate the gases released in the electrochemical reaction.
Groups: The groups (or accumulator elements) that go in the glasses or cells, are formed by Positive Plates, Negative Plates and Separators.
Positive Plates: They are the result of filling a grid of a lead alloy with a paste or active material composed of lead peroxide and sulfuric acid. (The grid holds the active material and conducts the
electrical energy).
Negative Plates: Union of a grid of a lead alloy with a paste composed of spongy lead and
sulfuric acid.
Separator: Made of micro-porous polyethylene which does not corrode with acid; prevents metallic conduction between the plates of opposite polarity, while allowing electrolytic conduction.
Both positive and negative plates are intercalated and a separator is placed between each positive and negative plate. This set thus formed is called a group. The groups are interconnected in series, in such a way that the positive plates of one are connected with the negative ones of the other and so on. In our manufacturing process, the expanded metal negative plate guaranteeing greater productivity and quality, a high investment with the latest technology.
Terminals: The positive or negative terminals, allow the output of the energy accumulated in the battery or the input of it when it is discharged and are connected to the electrical system of the vehicle or to an external charging system.
Electrolyte: Compound of sulfuric acid and distilled water. It is one of the chemical elements that is part of the electrochemical reaction of the Battery. It is necessary to use the electrolyte provided with the Batteries and not another, since a certain density and existence of purity is required
